The Story: Jason, Lucia and a Score That Goes Wrong

Lucia Caminos is the first woman to lead a modern GTA game. She grew up in Liberty City and starts the story fresh out of a Leonida prison. Jason Duval grew up around grifters, tried the Army, then drifted into work for drug runners in the Keys.

Together, they chase one easy score and a better life. It goes wrong, pulling the pair into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida. The trailers play it like a modern Bonnie and Clyde tale, where trust matters as much as firepower.

The GTA 6 Map: Leonida Is Bigger Than Vice City

GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, Rockstar's version of modern Florida. Vice City, its answer to Miami, gets the spotlight, but Rockstar's official postcards name six regions so far:

• Vice City, the neon-lit hub of beaches, clubs and skyscrapers
• Leonida Keys, tourist islands linked by long bridges
• Grassrivers, Everglades-style swampland, alligators included
• Port Gellhorn, a rundown town of cheap motels and strip clubs
• Ambrosia, a rural and industrial stretch that a biker gang calls home
• Mount Kalaga National Park, a wilderness far from the city lights

Rockstar hasn't shared an official map size. Fan mappers estimate it at roughly twice the size of GTA V's map.

Density matters more anyway. Malls, nightclubs, gun stores, a zoo, and the Vice City Metro are all enterable. You can explore underwater too, and the wildlife runs from alligators and flamingos to sharks and dolphins.

GTA 6 Features That Change How It Plays

Rockstar's 26-minute Extended Look premiered on Netflix on August 27 and finally showed GTA 6 in motion. Interviews with the studio since then have filled in the gaps.

Play as One Lead or Both

A character wheel lets you pick Jason, Lucia, or both at once. In dual mode, one partner drives while you flip to the other and shoot from the passenger seat. You can also take your partner on dates, workouts, or robberies, and that bond shapes some story moments.

Police Who Remember You

Cops now identify you by your looks, outfit, and car. Change clothes or ditch the vehicle, and you can slip a search. The wanted meter also goes back up to six stars, after GTA V capped it at five.

A Criminal Profile tracks whether you work clean or leave chaos behind, and police and locals react to match. You can carry only two pistols and two rifles, so the rest of your arsenal rides in the trunk.

A Body and a World That React

Jason and Lucia's bodies change with your habits. Junk food adds weight, gym sessions add muscle, and skipped sleep shows in how they look. Weather is local now, so a storm can soak one area while another stays sunny. Hurricanes are part of the system too.

Car Theft Takes the Right Tools

Older cars open with a slim jim or a broken window. Newer models need gadgets like key cloners, so a supercar takes some prep. You can keep a stolen ride, sell it to a fence, or respray it at Pay and Spray. Cars also burn fuel now, though a full tank lasts a long time.

Radio Finally Leaves the Car

For the first time, radio and podcasts follow you on foot through Jason and Lucia's earbuds. Rockstar has revealed six stations so far, with Bad Bunny hosting Cocoteo FM and Robyn co-hosting Flash FM.
