Will a USD code work if my Steam account uses another currency?

Check your account currency first. Steam's redemption page says wallet codes are converted to your Wallet currency when you redeem them, whatever country they were bought in. Steam's support pages take a firmer line, warning that each account is tied to one currency and that you may see an error activating a code issued in a different one.
