Anime Vanguards Tier List (September 2026): Best Units Ranked
Team StanShop

How We Built this Anime Vanguards Tier List?
We built this Anime Vanguards tier list differently from the rest. Rankings here assume each unit is fully evolved and running its preferred trait. We also assume a sensible Familiar and Memoria setup. This list ranks units for general endgame PvE. Hence, a unit that dominates one niche raid may still sit lower overall.
Team fit matters a lot in Update 14.5. Several top units only reach their ceiling inside a specific group, such as Dragon Sphere, Demon Controller or Evils. All units in this AV tier list are divided into distinct tiers, and you can check their meaning below:
| Tier | What It Means |
| S+ | Meta-defining units that shape whole team builds |
| S | Excellent picks that shine with the right partners or setup |
| A | Strong specialists and reliable alternatives |
| B | Situational units that need a specific plan to earn a slot |
| C | Niche picks, often better for farming than for clearing |

S+ Tier Units
Apathetic Savior (Door)
Apathetic Savior is the closest thing to a must-pick support in the current meta. Each time a Demon Controller ability fires, he stacks a damage buff for the entire team. His Theurgy kit adds extra damage, cleansing and crowd control on top of that. He also carries a one-time rescue that can save a defense on the verge of failing.
His weak point is uptime. If your team cannot keep abilities cycling to sustain Lunar Cycle, his value drops sharply. He drops from Lunar Bridge Floor 11 and evolves with Universe Arcana.

Holy Deceiver (Dark)
Holy Deceiver arrived with Update 14.5 and went straight to the top. He strengthens Holy damage and Dragon Sphere allies, shares his upgrades with them and slows enemies. His critical hits also push extra area damage across the team.
Put him in a random roster and most of that value disappears. Build a proper Dragon Sphere lineup around him and he becomes the centrepiece. He was the Tier 50 reward on the Update 14.5 Part 3 Event Pass.

Wrath (Assault)
Wrath powers any team built around Evils units. He boosts Curse and Evils allies, strips enemy shields and scales through self-upgrades and his Mind Control sequence. His Despair ability adds damage amplification and a slow.
There is a strict condition attached. Despair only reaches full strength when every other unit on the field belongs to the Evils group. He came from the Tier 50 slot of the Update 14.5 Part 4 Battle Pass.

Divalo (Requiem)
Divalo covers damage and control from a single slot. He dodges attacks with certainty, counters enemies and uses Complete Erasure to lock down the lane. His damage climbs whenever a boss is present and whenever enemies are slowed.
That last detail makes him deadly next to a strong slow unit. Treat him as a control piece first and a damage dealer second. You can pull him from the Special Banner and evolve him from there.

Super Vogito
Super Vogito sits near the very top of raw damage. He ignores dodge, cuts through part of enemy damage reduction and applies Rupture. Enemies that attack him or try to debuff him get punished with counters.
The trade-off is setup time. You must swap Roku (Super 3) and Vogita (Angel) 13 times in a match before they fuse. Plan your early waves so the team survives that window.

Rogita (Super 4)
Rogita fights alongside a clone that repeats his previous attack. Instant Teleportation briefly shortens his attack interval, which lets him burst hard at key moments. Some skipped attacks also slow enemies and stack extra damage.
He fits naturally into Dragon Sphere teams next to Holy Deceiver. Timing matters more with him than with most carries because of the clone. He comes from the Special Banner, followed by his evolution path.

The Falcon (of Light)
The Falcon makes every enemy easier to kill. He buffs nearby allies and lowers enemy damage reduction. His attacks knock enemies back and slow any target already locked out of repulse.
You reach this form through a sacrifice sequence after evolving The Falcon. Branded allies take a damage penalty, so plan who you sacrifice and who stays on the board.

Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet)
Rebel Fighter chains attacks and abilities through Mana, and his damage grows with every link in the combo. Takedowns unlock Materia bonuses, including extra Mana and higher critical chance.
He starts slowly. A short stage can end before his kit fully comes online. In longer fights, he keeps pace with the best carries in the game. He was the Floor 50 reward in Worldlines Season 13.

S Tier Units
Lich King (Ruler)
Lich King picks his spells based on the elements in your team. He also uses World Items for extra utility. His Caloric Stone can place another unit you own, which adds flexibility no other support offers.
An awkward element mix limits his spell options, so build your roster with him in mind. He came from a fall event banner and is not available through that original banner right now.

Savior (Moonless)
Savior (Moonless) chains several follow-up attacks, and those follow-ups ignore damage reduction. He gains value from every unit category, so he slots into almost any team. Temporary buffs can also be doubled for his attack cycle.
Buff timing is the key to his damage. Swapping him into Rebirth changes how his kit works rather than simply raising his numbers. You get him by evolving Ichiga (Savior) through the Spirit Mask quest.

Star Crusader (Platinum)
Star Crusader stops time the moment you first place him. After that, he keeps controlling whichever enemy the team focuses. His Platinum Star adds a second attacker whose hits bypass Overshield.
Point your team at one target and he triggers repeated Time Stops. He was the Tier 50 reward in the Season 14 Battle Pass.

Divine General (Adaptation)
Divine General adapts to enemy mechanics after hitting them a few times. Each adaptation raises his damage. He also applies Nullify and can move to a leading enemy nobody has touched yet.
He needs repeated attacks to build up, so short fights and fresh enemy types slow him down. He comes from Divine General's Realm Rift, and Vowstone offers a guaranteed route.

History's Strongest
History's Strongest stacks Bleed and Burn, then adapts to harmful effects to gain more damage. His Dismantle lets Burn damage slip past shields and damage reduction.
Keep him away from effects that block damage-over-time critical hits. He is one of two outcomes from the Today's Strongest vs History's Strongest clash, which came from the summer seasonal banner.

Today's Strongest
Today's Strongest is the control-focused outcome of that same clash. He slows enemies in range, pushes back nearby targets and bypasses damage reduction. He also resists weather and harmful effects, with bonus damage during Void.
Watch his meter closely. Spending it all the way to zero pauses his attacks. Remember that you choose one form, so Today's and History's never share a team as separate units.

The Struggler (Rampage)
The Struggler hits bleeding targets with extra attacks and repulse. Demon kills boost his damage, and Berserker Armor adds even more power while building Injury stacks.
When the armor ends, he can end up stunned. Bring support that keeps his damage cycle going through that dip. Pull him from the Special Banner and finish the Dragonslayer evolution quest.

The Smith (Forged)
The Smith turns takedowns into Ore, then crafts weapons for your allies. Crafting Silver weapons also earns free masterwork items.
He takes some management. A new weapon replaces the old one, so think before you equip. He runs best on the Fortune trait. Get him from the Special Banner and evolve him with Smith's Anvils.

Graceful Pilot (Mecha)
Graceful Pilot raises the damage and range of nearby allies. Her active abilities add bonus damage on top. Mech mode gives you player-controlled attacks and fires a nuke when she leaves it.
Mech mode needs your attention and changes her control effects. She was the Level 50 reward in the Season 13 Battle Pass.

A Tier Units
Dawntay (Jackpot)
Dawntay extends a chain of follow-up attacks every time he lands a critical hit. Filling his DT gauge triggers a transformation with stronger critical stats and a different follow-up. He needs high crit chance and steady gauge uptime to shine. Buy him from the Exclusive Shop and evolve him with Pizza.

Smith John
Smith John swaps with Lord of Shadows once his gauge fills. Hitting the same enemy repeatedly stacks his damage, so switching targets hurts him. His Unknown element also helps teams built around element bonuses. He comes from Delusional Boy in the Ruined City Raid and evolves with Atomic Essence.

God (Standless)
God (Standless) lets you choose which status effect his hits apply. He stops time when you place or swap him in, up to three times per match. Defeated enemies can also return as allied summons. His original anniversary routes are not available right now.

Cursed Copycat (Pure)
Cursed Copycat fights with The Attached One at his side. The elements he copies add different effects, from slows and stuns to Nullify and team buffs. A poor copy wastes much of his value, so pick his target attack for each stage. Beat the wave 30 Cursed Copycat boss with Pure Love's Ring, then evolve him.

Investigation Leader (Truth)
Investigation Leader refills the meters of nearby units. His critical hits generate MP, which he spends to power up attacks and active abilities. His Trenchcoat boosts his Demon Controller support further. He drops from Lunar Bridge Floor 1 and evolves with TV.

Phantom Thief (Jester)
Phantom Thief turns his critical hits into follow-up attacks from allied Demon Controllers. Baton Pass lets those allies attack without spending meter. He also applies Rupture and a wide slow. He needs Demon Controller partners to earn his slot. He drops from Lunar Bridge Floor 9 and evolves with Phantom Letter.

Tuji (Sorcerer Killer)
Tuji strips shields and ignores damage reduction. His weapon swap lets you favour boss damage and range or a straight damage boost. He gains a bonus when he carries no buffs, so random support buffs work against him. Get him through the Sorcerer Battlefield Shop and its evolution requirements.

Alocard (Vampire King)
Alocard applies Bleed and Wounded, which makes enemies take more damage. His summons speed up his attacks and build a damage bonus as they die. Opinions on him vary widely, and his Familiar and Memoria change his value a lot. Pull him from the Special Banner and evolve him with Hellsing Arms.

Iscanur (Pride)
Iscanur burns enemies and builds Hour stacks as waves pass. Burning slots or leaving team slots empty speeds up his setup. A fully empty team even unlocks free placement and self-upgrades. Wrath pairs with him far better than random supports do. He came from a summer event banner.

Ice Queen (Release)
Ice Queen can follow up allied attacks while she stays unplaced, buffing the unit she assists. Her Absolute Zero gives different bonuses based on the element of the next attacker. Leaving her off the field is intentional. She came from a winter banner and is not available there right now.

Envoy of Destruction (Resistance)
Envoy's Destruction effect pushes damage through enemy damage reduction and punishes Overshield. Buffs give him Flame stacks, which unlock extra attacks and his active ability. Bring a reliable buffer to keep Flame building. He came from the Update 13.5 Event Pass.

World Destroyer (Old)
World Destroyer removes Overshield, applies Wanted and slows marked enemies. He stuns on attack and can turn an applied debuff into more damage and range. He is a specialist, so bring him when Overshield enemies are the problem. Get him from World Destroyer mode or its shop, then evolve him.

Reckless Gambler (Cursed)
Reckless Gambler draws card hands that grant damage, critical stats and control. Better hands help him upgrade or hit Jackpot. His emergency defense offers one last chance against a non-boss leak. Card luck makes him inconsistent. He comes from the Sorcerer Battlefield Raid and evolves with Playing Card.

Elastic Captain (Cog 5th)
Elastic Captain spreads repulse through allied attacks, supports Pirate units and applies Wanted. Sun God Transformation opens a player-controlled damage window. Wanted replaces other damage-boosting debuffs he hits, which can disrupt mixed teams. Pull him from the Special Banner and complete both evolution questlines.

B Tier Units
Boohon (Evil)
Boohon raises the attack and critical chance of Dragon Sphere allies. Candy kills trigger area explosions, and his earlier forms stack extra damage and range. He is a late stage of Boo's in-match transformation chain, so you never place him directly.

Isdead (Romantic)
Isdead freezes enemies and marks one ally with Affection. When she attacks the same target as that ally, her damage rises. Her active ability briefly speeds up attack intervals. Watch for freeze-immune enemies. She comes from the Frozen Domain portal in Worldlines Season 2.

Goblin Killer (Trapper)
Goblin Killer places traps that grow stronger the longer they wait. Detonations bypass damage reduction and trigger a Rupture attack. Traps that fire instantly lose that charge bonus, so placement matters. Buy him from the Exclusive Shop and evolve him with Torch.

Gilgamesh (King of Heroes)
Gilgamesh ignores some damage reduction and gains damage and range as he attacks. Later upgrades add an execute on low-health non-boss enemies. Most nearby units lower his damage, so give him space. He comes from the Lunar Bridge Dungeon Shop and the Key of Babylon quest.

Sword Hunter (Void)
Sword Hunter builds Swordforce, then enters Illumination for map-wide attacks and Overcrit. Switching in or out of that state also hurts enemies and buffs nearby allies. His ranking splits the community, since he needs full cycles to show his worth. He was the Tier 50 reward on the Update 14.0 Part 2 Event Pass.

Brisket (Yo-Yo)
Brisket leaves a Yo-Yo at each attack location. Spending meter gives her temporary damage and range buffs. Meter support matters more than her team group. Some players still rank her very highly, so treat this spot as a floor. Pull her from the Special Banner, then evolve her with Teddy Bears and 5,000 takedowns.

Time Goddess (Crazed)
Time Goddess attacks herself to build buffs and periodically freezes enemies in range. Targets caught in time stop take stronger hits that bypass damage reduction. She needs that self-attack cycle running first. She was the Floor 50 reward in Worldlines Season 11, which is no longer available.

Cursed Lawyer (Tired)
Cursed Lawyer's Honest effect lowers upgrade costs and raises critical chance. Allies already at maximum crit chance get damage reduction bypass instead. Honest also stops damage-over-time crits, so keep him away from Bleed and Burn teams. He comes from the Sorcerer Battlefield Raid or shop and evolves with Gavel.

C Tier Units
Reaper (Scissors)
Reaper spreads damage with Splash, stacks Bleed and detonates repeated Bleeds. Once a target has enough stacks, follow-up attacks add control. He only performs against enemies that live long enough. He comes from the Severed Secret Trial Portal.

Bounty Hunter (King of Hell)
Bounty Hunter mixes Burn and Bleed with Wanted rewards. His real value sits outside combat. He raises Boss Bounty Mission rewards and Rift Shards, so he earns a farming slot even when faster clearers exist. Pull him from the Special Banner and finish the King of Hell quest.

Saber (King of Knights)
Saber's early upgrades repel enemies and reward first hits. Later upgrades swap that pattern for stronger sustained stats, stun immunity and Excalibur. Her job changes as you upgrade, so do not count on early repulse. Craft Avalon to evolve her after pulling her from the Special Banner.

Newsman (Forecast)
Newsman leaves damaging thunderclouds and turns non-boss enemies into slow snails. His damage also applies Bubbled. The snail effect never touches bosses, which limits him in endgame fights. He comes from the secret Cursed Clinic Trial Portal.

Yehowach (Almighty)
Yehowach attacks the first and last enemies in his range together. Resisting status effects builds his damage, and Ashfallen use extends his range. With only one enemy in range, his passive adds little. He comes from his dedicated Rift and evolves with Essence of the Spirit King.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who is the best unit in Anime Vanguards right now?
Apathetic Savior (Door) is the safest overall pick because he buffs the whole team and adds control. For raw damage, Super Vogito, Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet) and Holy Deceiver (Dark) lead the pack.
2. What is the best support unit in Anime Vanguards?
Apathetic Savior (Door) and The Falcon (of Light) are the strongest supports in Update 14.5. Holy Deceiver (Dark) also counts if you run a Dragon Sphere team.
3. Which strong units can I get without banner luck?
Savior (Moonless) comes from a quest, and Divine General (Adaptation) has a guaranteed Vowstone route. Cursed Copycat (Pure), Investigation Leader and Phantom Thief come from boss fights and Lunar Bridge floors.
4. Are Today's Strongest and History's Strongest separate units?
No. They are two outcomes of the same unit path. You choose one form, so they never fill two team slots.
5. How often does the Anime Vanguards tier list change?
Rankings shift with every major update, new banner and balance patch. Bookmark this page, since we revise the list when the meta moves.
6. Do traits matter for these unit rankings?
Yes. Most top units want Monarch, while a few prefer Fortune, Blitz, Deadeye or Ethereal. A unit without its ideal trait can drop a full tier in practice.
