Nintendo Direct September 2026: What Was Announced?
The September 9 Direct focused heavily on Nintendo Switch 2, with a mix of new titles, current-generation editions of existing games, and remakes. Most reveals carry release dates spread across the rest of 2026 and into 2027, giving players a clear run of upcoming releases to plan for.
The Biggest Reveals for Nintendo Switch 2
The headline moment was Persona 6, confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, though no release date has been announced. Alongside it, Persona 4 Revival was dated for May 20, 2027, giving the series two entries on the platform.

Capcom's Resident Evil remakes, covering RE2, RE3, and RE4, are all dated for October 16, 2026. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of Lara Croft's debut, arrives February 12, 2027.

How to Buy These Games with a Nintendo eShop Gift Card
Nearly every title from the Direct releases digitally on the Nintendo eShop, and a Nintendo eShop gift card is a simple way to pay for them. You add the balance to your account, then use it to pre-order or buy games as they release, with no card details needed at checkout.
One point to check before buying: Nintendo eShop cards are region-specific, so a card only works on an account in the same region. Pick the card for the region your Nintendo account is registered to, so the balance lands where you can use it. The card is delivered digitally, so once your purchase is complete, the code is ready to redeem.
