Does this really include both Java and Bedrock?

You do not pick a side or pay separately. Java is the classic version for mods and community servers, and Bedrock is the version that cross-plays with consoles and mobile. This code gives you both on the same Microsoft account.

It depends on the edition. Java Edition runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, so Mac and Linux players use that version. Bedrock Edition runs on Windows only. Can I give it as a gift, or move it to another account later?

You can give it as a gift, but only before it is redeemed. Hand the unredeemed code to the person and let them enter it on their own Microsoft account, and the game becomes theirs. What you cannot do is move the game after redemption. Once a code is redeemed, the license is fixed to that Microsoft account for good and cannot be transferred, so never redeem a code you intend to give away.

Is this Minecoins or the actual game?

The actual game. This is a full-game license that unlocks Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. Minecoins are a separate product, the in-game currency used to buy Marketplace skins, texture packs and community worlds. If you want the game itself, this is the right purchase. If you already own Minecraft and only want spending currency for the Marketplace, that is Minecoins, which is a different item.

What if my code will not redeem?

First, check the code. It is 25 characters, and it is easy to mix up a zero and the letter O, or a one and the letter I, so enter it carefully or copy and paste it. Make sure you are signed in to the Microsoft account you want to own the game, since the game locks to whichever account is signed in. If the site says the code is already redeemed, it has been entered on a different Microsoft account, so check any other accounts you may have been signed in to.
