Will a US card work on my account if I play in another region?

Only if your Riot account is set to North America. Riot locks every prepaid card to a server region, and a US card credits VP only on an NA account. Riot does not let you change an account's region, so there is no setting to switch it after the fact. If you play on a European, Asian or other regional account, a US card will not redeem on it. Check your account region before buying so the card matches.

Can I use the VP on League of Legends or other Riot games?

No. Valorant Points are specific to Valorant. Even though Riot makes several games, VP does not carry over to League of Legends or any other Riot title, and this card credits Valorant only. If you want currency for a different Riot game, you need that game's own top-up. For Valorant skins, agents and the Battle Pass, though, this is exactly the right currency.

What can I actually buy with Valorant Points?

VP is the key to almost everything in the Valorant store. You can buy weapon skins and full skin bundles, unlock agents, buy tiers of the current Battle Pass, and purchase Radianite Points, which upgrade certain skins with extra effects and variants. These are the cosmetic items that ordinary play does not simply hand you, which is why players top up with VP. It does not affect gameplay or give any competitive advantage, since everything VP buys is cosmetic.

Does it credit instantly, and does the VP expire?

Yes to the first, no to the second. Once you submit a valid code, the VP is added to your account straight away, and you will see your balance update in the store. After that, the VP sits on your account with no expiry date, so there is no pressure to spend it all at once. You can buy a skin now and hold the rest for the next Battle Pass or bundle you want.

What if my code will not redeem?

Start with the PIN. Enter it exactly as shown with no spaces, and copy and paste it if you can, since a single wrong character causes an error. Next, confirm your Riot account region is North America, because a region mismatch is the most common reason a US code is refused. Make sure you are signed in to the account you actually want to credit, as the VP goes to whichever account is logged in.
